Dr. Eric Hall
I am often asked how I got into chiropractic. Many people are surprised to hear that initially, it was for health reasons, not for a back ache. As a young boy, I suffered with severe allergies and exercise induced asthma. Luckily, my mother had already discovered a wonderful local chiropractor that helped her recover from a debilitating bout of sciatica. So at age 12, she took me in to see him. This was almost 40 years ago now and well before much of the current science that has since proven the connection between chiropractic care and whole body health and function.
I can only imagine what my mother’s friends must have thought back then. “That boy has a lung problem, isn’t chiropractic just for stiff necks and sore backs?” Luckily, my mother had found the real deal. Even though she had originally seen him for a back problem, which was completely cleared up with her chiropractic care, he had still taken the time to explain the connection between chiropractic care and the health and function of the entire body.
I remember him trying to explain it to me too, but frankly, I was too young to understand. All I knew was that I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. All that mattered to me then, was the end result which was that soon, my body began to function better and before long, I was able to live my life like every 12-year old boy should.
Some of what that first chiropractor said to me must have sunk in because today, I am a chiropractor and I have spent the last 25 years on a mission to provide the same life changing experience I had with as many individuals and families as I possibly can. Today, my greatest joy in practice is not only helping people get back to living the life they never thought they could live again, but also explaining how and whychiropractic care works, just like my first chiropractor did for me.
